Jet engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and composite structures – that's what our graduate aircraft mechanics work on after they complete the Aviation Maintenance Program here at TSTC West Texas. To get ready for your new career, you'll learn about the operation and overhaul of engines and mechanical systems used by airlines. You'll find that attending classes and labs is very convenient – just step out of the classroom and directly into the hangar for your hands-on training with airframes and engines similar to the ones you'll work on with companies such as American Eagle, Southwest Airlines, and B.F. Goodrich.

Depending on your choice to pursue an associate's degree or a certificate of completion, you'll take courses such as:

• Turbine Engine Overhaul
• Aircraft Composites
• Basic Electrical Theory
• Aircraft Welding
• Aircraft Hydraulics and Pneumatics

At TSTC West Texas, you'll gain the experience required to make you eligible to take the FAA Airmen Certification Exam. Industry wants you to have two certifications that encompass knowledge of the entire airplane:

• Airframe
• Powerplant
