Computer Network Systems and Administration

Students in the TSTC West Texas Computer Network Systems and Administration (CNS) program usually enjoy watching "geek shows" like G4TV, Attack of the Show, and Discovery Science. They’re interested in computer games and gadgets -- the new technologies in the computer world. Are you? At the same time, are you detail oriented and patient and a bit of a detective? If you want to know what is going on behind the scenes or just fix your "lag," the Computer Network Systems and Administration Program might be for you.

In the Computer Networks Systems and Administration Program, you will discover how computer networks work. Whether in our virtual computer labs, or learning labs in Abilene, Brownwood, or Sweetwater, you'll learn about network operating systems such as Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Server 2008, how to design and install networks, and how to administer them. Your lab work can be virtual hands-on or learning lab hands on, whether you are installing a network, trouble-shooting industry type problems, or running cable.

With the skills and knowledge gained in the program, you can choose a career such as:

  • PC Support Technician
