Health Information Technology

Are you interested in a career in the rapidly growing health care field? Do you prefer to work in an office or even at home rather than directly with patients? Graduates of the Health Information Technology (HIT) Program here at TSTC West Texas have exactly those opportunities.

IMPORTANT: The TSTC West Texas HIT program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM) in cooperation with the American Health Information Management Association's Council on Accreditation. That means that when you graduate with an associate's degree, you can take the national Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam. And, passing that exam improves your career possibilities and increases your salary potential.

In the HIT program, TSTC students learn how to transcribe, code, analyze, and protect medical information. We all know that doctors and other health care professionals need accurate records to treat their patients so you can see how truly vital this field is to good medical care.
