Digital Imaging and Design

While you're in the DID Program, you'll learn to be a graphic designer and how to work in print, Web, and multimedia formats. You'll even do some of your studying in a 3D virtual environment –TSTC West Texas has islands in "Second Life." During your classes, whether they occur in a hands-on, face-to-face lab, through flexible on-line instruction, or through dynamic virtual world simulations, instructors will help you develop expertise in numerous software applications such as:
- Photoshop
- Indesign
- Dreamweaver
- Illustrator
- Premiere Pro
- Flash
- 3dsmax 2008
Our Digital Imaging and Design instructors will help you develop the professionalism and skills that will set you apart in the graphic design field. Our goal is to help you understand your client's or employer's needs and deliver the product they require in the highly competitive field of graphic design.
The Graphics Design field requires you to solve problems and create solutions. We'll give you projects that will expand your skills with real-world scenarios. Your work will require you to make presentations to clients, so in your courses you'll have plenty of opportunities to practice and polish your presentation skills. Finally, this field also prepares you for independent or contract work, so in our Portfolios Course, we'll help you determine how much to charge for your services, and you'll learn to put together your own Web site to help your business along.
