This program offers you an innovative study of science with a hands-on approach and:

Environmental Science is a rapidly growing field with a wide scope of career opportunities:

And, as a graduate you can work with government agencies or companies in areas as diverse as oil and gas, water and wastewater treatment, construction, wind energy, manufacturing, and compliance consulting.

Courses you'll take include Environmental Regulation Interpretation and Applications, OSHA Regulation, Applied General Chemistry, Environmental Geology, Environmental Biology, Industry Waste Management, Introduction to Geographic Information Systems and Global Positioning Systems, and Environmental Sampling and Analysis.

Your instructors have extensive experience in the environmental field. They keep up with issues and trends in the field through their participation in organizations like the Community and College Consortium for Health and Safety Training, the Hazardous Materials Training and Research Institute, and the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education.

Our Environmental Science Technology Program isn't limited to a few classrooms and labs. While in the program, you'll have the chance to have many experiences like taking geology field trips or working with Texas Parks and Wildlife. You might also do water sampling at Gonzalez Creek and Hubbard Creek Lake and go "geocaching" [treasure hunting with a global positioning system (GPS)] in the area.

  • Foreign Animal Disease Response
  • Forklift Training
